The Snows of 1947 - Polgoon

The gatepost in inscribed' Polgoon Private'. I assume this is the entrance to Polgoon Farm at Rosehill or does someone know better?
The 'little Fergie' tractor is carrying the milk churns and a couple of passengers.
oh my...what a Fab picture.....will have to go and take a look to see if the post is still there?....presuming it is....I will take a pic to compare....brilliant photo.

My parents were courting at this time. My father was a twenty-year-old farm worker living in Catchall and my mother lived on the Trengwainton Estate. I found this with my mother s mementoes from that period and wonder if my father might be driving. I ll never know.

As far as I know Polgoon is on the right of the post and the tractor is coming down from Rose Hill. This is a real treasure

interesting as my father worked as a farm labourer/worker in sancreed on a farm called Tregonebris.......then later worked in the gardens in Trengwainton......wonder if my father knew your parents?

Tracks in the snow tell me they are going up the hill, the tractor backwards; the snow up the hill is unbroken.
