The name 'Alverne' and 'Alverton' were interchangeable, in old documents and usage.
The Drill Hall still exists as a framework of the cinema.
I would like to know the whereabouts of Queen s Court, Chapel Place and Cornish Court, all long gone, I think. (For a friend who s tracing family in Penzance).
I will first have a look at the apportionment books; I have 1875 1:2500 map of Penzance and 1908 1:2500 Penzance; may take a while; I have a running search on the go for spartanwarrior as well.
