St Martins Scilly Isles 1921

St Martins Scilly Isles 1921 - a royal person perhaps? this is from the Gibson collection
Could well be - it has St Martins in pencil on the back but they could easily have made a mistake

Marconi heard signals from Porthcurno, 30 miles away, from the telegraph tower on St Mary s, in 1898. Does this help?
ETA - not really..

Father Matt Lethbridge with the lifeboat crew and men from Bryer rescued the crew of Italian ship Isabo, wrecked on Scilly Rock. The Italian Government sent a representative to the Islands to present medals and scrolls. But that was in 1927.

That could be it, there are a few white caps in the crowd, and Treeve s ensigns could be RNLI flags. Perhaps Ludlow can check the date? Is that Father Matt near the door?

It must be that, I had not twigged a possible date of 1927; See Hearts of Oak, with my family connection to the loss of the ship.
Together with paintings of the ship and photographs of crew, etc ...
