It's B..... cold on the Prom!

My poor little son is suffering here on the Prom!
Bless his cotton socks, or were they wool !! Settles my mind on something though, I was convinced that the lions were bright gold yellow, with red markings, like the drinking fountain in Alexandra Road. I have just the one bandw my uncle took.

I have the picture on one of my drives, to upload again. The originals were cast iron. The present ones appear to be bronze or similar. There was a Cornishman report on the new ones, I vaguely remember.

Those golden ones were done at the same time as the Morrab Gardens fountain which was also painted in garish colours which didn't appeal to me. They were formerly a nondescript colour (in that I know they were different but can't recall what colour exactly, maybe just a rusty metallic colour and bearing lamps as Treeve says).

Having had a number of computers collapse over the years, I cannot remember which drive the picture is on, but I will find it. I seem to remember the paintwork was a black or vandyke brown; traditionally undercoated purple.
