Face
Such a crying shame - these will not be with us for much longer, unless ???? ....

It was the sadness in the expression that caught my attention - a sort of I ve been forgotten But then perhaps that s just me - I tend to become a melancholic nostalgic every now and again ....

I have no doubt that these ladies and gents will become all the more melancholic - the whole building is being turned into a massive pig s ear, what chance do these sculptures have against the march of the cash registers, with no regard for taste or for history; having been in The Pavilion for Operettas and for Rock Concerts, I can say that it was a magnificent hall and it is a pure travesty to allow it to fester in such present condition and appearance.

When I look at old pictures of PZ (and a big thanks to you treeve for uploading so many), you can see just what a fine town PZ used to be. The architecture, the attention to detail - full blown craftsmanship. Oh to be able to walk down Market Jew Street or stroll along the Prom in their prime. History shows us great civilisations rise, have prosperity and then sink into decadence and corruption before disappearing. If you have no respect for the past, then you have no respect for the future.

It is one thing for the Empire of Ozymandias to crumble into the sand, but quite another to see it being destroyed by official vandalism, approved vandalism, and degenerate social vandalism; the basic decay of Time is not even being Stayed by those that own the property or have the power to do something about it.

I wanted to know more so had to check out the reference to Ozymandias on the web, A fine poem. The sort of text I d look for to incorporate into an image when I was at art school. Re: my post in the forum on great teachers - think I may have to add you in the fullness of time!

Best Teacher to find - is your Self.
Ask a question, seek out the answer, reason as to what is possible, have a wide open mind and heart.

I remember going to the Pavilion during my childhood to see Pantomimes and then with school parties to see the Ballet Rambert. Such a shame that it has been allowed to become what it is now. it was magnificent.
