Princes Street - 04

One of the three great windows of The Lodge.
The windows are dated 1896.
Photograph taken by kind permission of the Secretary of The Lodge,
also permission given to upload it to this site.
3rd August 2009
Magnificent. What every happened to the art of stained glass construction? It was a real shame when a lot of local churches had their windows smashed as gangs of mindless idiots threw rocks at them for entertainment... it was a fab then. Thankfully things have moved on to burning wheelie bins instead.

The Art of working Stained Glass and Lead Came is returning. Working on a Massive Warehouse and Mill in the Bristol area a few years ago, we found skilled people to repair and reconstruct older windows such as these. These particular windows are protected externally by perspex sheeting, which does affect the light.
