1952 HDGS (PGS)

1952 and my parents thrilled with my success,
we went down to town and I was 'fitted' with the uniform. I was then dressed up by mother and made to stand for various camera poses.
What was the name of that outfitters?
Top of Chapel Street, became Dunns?
Not seen any other pics of the complete entourage.
What this year's 11 year old is wearing.
Yes, that is a Prefab in Polmeere Road.
Brings back memories - though the caps had gone by my time (plus shorts) and briefcases were in vogue. At primary school, my mother made me bands out of sewing elastic to ensure my socks were always in the upward position - how they used to dig into your legs. Would take them off once at school and wear the socks down around the ankles - in a more rebellious position! The outfitters for HDGS I went to was on the terrace in Market Jew street, around about the position of the Davy statue (or slightly further down) - though I can't remember the name. My aunt worked there for a while.
