A regional fire control centre dubbed a 'white elephant' by union members could now never become operational.
It's as the new government promises to 'put an end to the forced regionalisation of fire brigades'.
The Fire Brigade Union in the South West have long called for the project based in Taunton to be scrapped.
It's costing tax-payers an estimated five thousand pounds a day.
