The Penzance Library/Art School terracotta decoration

This may be what you mean but no evidence in this photo of St John the Baptist's head on a platter, unfortunately.
I knew the central shields were not St John the Baptist - but I have a vague recollection that there were two small panels on the walls over each end of the facade. What was in them, I am not sure. The balustrading was originally two levels in the centre, with a high pedestal and a statue of an Adonis figure, possibly lost during WWII. I really must get some morning shots of this facade.
