I was pleased enough when I first saw one of these at Marazion Marsh and recognised it for myself. I wish I had your ability to capture such sightings on camera, Chris!
When you're out and about like that Tpp you need the bigger lens, unless you get really lucky, but the next best thing is enticing the birds to come to you, bird feeders in the garden, if you put out the right food out you'll be surprised what you might get. This pic was taken at the Hayle Estuary, the female was there too but didn't manage a decent pic of her.
