Another view of Polwithen Lodge; it looks as if Trewithen Road has been formed; note that Alverton Road is a cut and fill road. It was originally a cart track about a third of that shown here, in the centre of the road shown; the ground sloped down to the level of Hawke s Farm; and that is why it is now below the level of the present road. The upper level was formed into Greenbank, which later gave its name to the row of houses further along.
