On 15th June, 1998, it was the day of England's opening Group G match in France against Tunisia. Some pals on the Recreation Ground tried to get into the spirit of the tournament, later to be watched on TV. Here we see Shane Nicholls sidefooting the ball just wide of the goal while goalie Mark Knight is left standing helplessly watching. Paul Knight and Paul Oxenham look on in the background! England did in fact win 2 - 0 later with goals from Shearer and Scholes.
