We lost both our ginger cats one year after the other, Paddy (16) in 2007 and Polly (17) in 2008. They were such characters and we felt their loss keenly as they represented all our child-rearing years. However, we don t miss coming home to surprise packets or spending money on their food and vet bills and holidays mean we come and go without guilt or worry!
Thomas is now my only companion, a real character. I miss all the cats that have joined me along the way ... including my first cat, when I was young (in the dark corners of Time). In a Jungian sense cats represent all that is good, wholesome and warm ... Love. Including the lesson that Love is not possession, hug a cat too long and see what happens. Sorry to hear of your double loss.
