It appears from various opinions given by rail enthusiasts, who are in the know, it was a points failure, and some arguments will ensue as to responsibility, in the confusion between the carve up of the basic infrastructure; other companies' trains were held up and a number of rolling stock and locomotive units were 'stored' in Penzance Station. Costs defrayed are complex. There is no damage to stock, but rails will have to be re-set with the points.
