Took this photo whilst on safari in Botswana last month. We came across these two young male lions and were able to get very close. They were not at all fazed by us (6 people in a large open safari truck) and snoozed most of the time!
Yes we were! I was a little nervous because I was on the 'lion side' of the safari truck! But they did not seem bothered by us and our guide assured me it was safe, so I relaxed!
Lovely, absolutely lovely. Male lions are my favourite big cat - I remember seeing one in his prime running in slow motion with the camera real close on an Attenborough documentary (I think). Beautiful. I think it must all stem back to reading the Narnian Chronicles when I was a child. I would love to be able to get this close.
