Lichen on a rock at the headland at Perranuthnoe

The air must be particularly clean here since a leaflet in the Parish Church notes over ninety lichens that grow on its walls and I once recall seeing a car parked up in Perranuthnoe which had lichen growing all over it and even round the rims of its windows. I wish I had had my camera with me. Its owner told me that he had been asked by the British Lichen Society to let it grow as such a fantastic example of the way lichen had colonised his car.
