Knees

My word the Christmas decorations still look the same today!! and I remember going to the the top floor in Knees and looked around the toys...

I remember this store well. It had one of the early CCTV systems that looked like something out of Dr Who. A black semi circle with 5 lenses stuck to it. I understand that the lenses were channelled into a prism and then fed to a primitive monitor. They were black in colour and had red flashing lights on them… Boot’s the chemist had a similar system.

I also remember Philp s Toy Land and the bottom of Arcade steps

I can remember getting a remote controlled car from here when i was younger... loved that place!

Had forgotten about the toy shop at the bottom of Arcade steps, thanks for jogging my memory. Specsavers is there now isn t it? Anyone got any photos of it?

Hi Specsavers have now moved across the road.....Orange phone shop is where Philip s Toy shop used to be, and are you after a pic of Specsavers or Philip s toy Land shop?

Was after a pic of the old toy shop if you have one? Remember going in there with my kids to buy their toys! Had forgotten all about it until Halfhidden mentioned it!
