This is a photograph of my father Sid Courtenay loading Potatoes into rail wagons in about the early 1950's. The photo is of the Eastern Green sidings which is now the site of the Mounts Bay Coaches garage and the Heliport is now located on the other side of the road in the photo
What a stunning picture of an age gone by, an age when it was all hard graft, when people had an inbuilt common sense, a cameradery. Sleeman s hauliers trucks as well ... Oh my, this is soooo good. ::6: ::6:
An unbelievable shot! Thanks so much for uploading it. It is an unrecognsible scene. Today that lovely lane has disappeared, replaced by 4 lanes of traffic and all that railway haulage area a wasteland. Amazing
