Well, placed, lit and composed to illustrate the finer points of the world which my family used to know so well on The Isles of Scilly :)

came back to this pic several times...something about it draws you in! really good capture

A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on). With origins in the Middle Ages and Ancient Greek/Roman art, still life paintings give the artist more leeway in the arrangement of design elements within a composition than do paintings of other types of subjects such as landscape or portraiture. As an artist as well as my work in camara, I can see that this picture displays great insight into the chiaroscura, and of non-kinetic energies, besides which it does show a connection with a long forgotten time of past years. It is indeed a superb picture; I have a sneaking feeling I may know what this month's winner will be :)
