Battery Rocks before the Pool

This is a postcard which bears no publisher's name but simply states 'This is a real photograph.' I picked it up in the old Fleamarket in Truro and thought it was special, giving as it does a view of Battery Rocks and the War Memorial in pre-Bathing Pool days (I believe the pool was opened round about 1936). I also believe the swimming area, later to be the site of the Pool, was known as Sandy Beach, covered by the tide perhaps here?
You are quite safe .. it is not the Frith photo. The war memorial is built on the site of the old battery, there was a blockhouse as well, with munitions and a rest room; until the pool was built the rocks were men s only bathing; then the women took over, winning all manner of swimming awards (my aunt being one of them).

Just found this again ... I was asking about the spring board placed in 1897, and I see it on the rocks; the old fixings are still in the rocks.
