St Just 1900-1901, Prissy Jelbert with steam engine.

I imagine Prissy must be the little maid in the foreground. Does anyone know the name or recognise anyone in this picture?
I beg your pardon, this is taken on the same day as Picture 112 Early Photographs The West Cornwall Peninsula by Reg Watkiss; but it is not that picture. The picture is of threshing at Gews Farm, St Just, the engine was owned by Mr Prissy Jelbert, the farm was tenanted by Isaac Nankervis. Mr Jelbert is the man in the centre of the picture leaning on the rear wheel.

Thanks for that information, Treeve. I confess to not having heard of Prissy Jelbet I shall follow this up.

I suspect this is Parismas Jelbart - he was a farmer, and he was secretary of the Working Men s Reading Club of St Just.
