Situated in a valley, on a minor road between Tregadgwith and Penmenor, one and a quarter miles south west of the churchtown of St Buryan. In 1856, Blight illustrated this with a round base. It also seems to have been later incorporated in the boundary wall until 1955 when the occupants of the cottage moved it a few feet west of its former site. It stands on private ground but may easily be viewed from the public roadside. The site of an ancient chapel is said to exist at Vellansaga but there seem not to be any visible remains.
