I was also very interested in these Georgian/Regency (?) doorways which , though they may be replacements for the original period pieces, are a feature that I believe helps to give Penzance its character. I think these are all to be found in North Parade which abuts on Park End, of course. You might like to look at these: http://picturepenzance.co.uk/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3156
All of these houses [North Parade and Park Corner] were built by the same person (or rather his team of men), he lived in the houses as they were completed, I am sure not as a simple convenience, but to be sure that they were right and that finishes were to his satisfaction.
The dates of these and of Buriton are not that different, I would venture to suggest that William Berryman had the same team to build it all. I know the interior joinery of Buriton House well enough to say it was all made by craftsmen.
