Old Town - 55

The Church East upper windows, though fitted into an opening of 1662.
The meaning of the letters A O escapes me for the moment.
These windows date from 1899, as they were dedicated to the memory of Louise Holzmaister,
lost on the SS Schiller.
16th June 2009
Meaning: God is the Alpha and the Omega, I should think i.e. the beginning and the end (Greek alphabet). However, O is not the symbol for Omega unless it has here been anglicised/romanised. As you will realise, the symbols represent the eternal nature of Jesus Christ and God. Revelation 22:13: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

That is a good point, I tend not to see Anglicised letters when thinking of Greek letter characters.
