The Church - now a Mortuary Church.
East Gable.
Looking at the stonework, it is probable that not a great deal of the walls have been re-built from the 1662 form of the church. The church was observed and recorded by William Borlase in 1750, as a latin cross plan, so this gable dates from the 1830s.
Perhaps only the eaves and gable tops, as the most likely area of collapse would have been the roofs alone.
Window surrounds look to be from 1140.
The cross surmounting the gable is definitely 1140.
To the right, the vestry and old entrance.
