Levant Mine and Beam Engine

The Whim (Winding) House of the Levant Mine, the function of which, I believe, was used to raise ore and lower materials, by way of Skip Shaft (not shown in this shot). I say this courtesy of BOP.
This is actually the house for the whim, or winding engine, which was used to raise ore and lower materials, by way of Skip Shaft (not shown in this shot).
 
As a point of interest, the flat-roofed building visible bottom right covers Engine Shaft; a large fan was installed here by Geevor when they reused this shaft for ventilation purposes.
 
Was Tinners the draught they used the shaft for?

By the way, how are you fixed for going down the re-opened South Crofty (see the WMN today?)
