Inside

A picture of inside West Cornwall Hospital picture supplied by John Gendall
Observation notes from Halfhidden: This photograph suggests that it may well have been taken in the late 1920s. Note the gas lighting on the ceiling and the dress code.
There were two vessels QUEST, one that was Shackleton s last ship (she survived to make other expeditions) and another was an armed trawler, but she lasted until 1951 (under her original name of QUEEN) without incident.

This is too large and too late to have been in the Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) Hospital in Morrab Road (1914-1919).

Because there was a Naval base here at Penzance in WWI, there should have been a hospital ward set up for the troops/sailors, with possibly Queen Alexandra s Imperial Military or Royal Naval Nursing Service. They cared for mixed patients alongside the hospital nurses.
