Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rosevean Road

This is an extract from 'Half a Century of Penzance - 1825-75' compiled by the daughter of J.S. Courtney from notes written by her father in 1878. It describes the building of the Catholic Church in Rosevean Road and how it came about. The whole book is a must for anyone interested in old Penzance though it is probably hard come by nowadays.
The whole book has been fully transcribed and is online for anyone, by the way. If you want to know the URL, send me a PM and I will reply. I have placed a more complete story in your gallery.

Many thanks, Treeve! Have just noted this comment having returned from a fortnight s holiday in Ibiza.
