This is the view when looking back at Battery from the wall of the main Pier with the sun almost down.

This war memorial once stood with no bathing pool and only rocks. The rocks themselves are known as Battery Rocks as there was once a battery of guns protecting our coast here during the Napoleonic Wars. Note the Scillonian at its winter mooring in the inner dock.

Here across a calm sea, beyond the pier and lighthouse, may be seen the coast where lies eastern Green and Long Rock.
