I think it was near the steps here that I caught the biggest fish I have ever caught. It was a scad (horse mackerel) about two and a half pounds and I (when 15) wasn't expecting it!
@tpp, the biggest shore fish I caught was a 5lb 4oz 4 drm grey mullet off Larrigan Rocks. This was 1972 when there was a open sewer pipe off the rocks. I doubt if this could be repeated here now.
