Thankyou - having got rid of so much in the tool line, a simple straight cut and just drop the top on a couple of cleats is all that has to be done, and a bit of wood glue to keep it down (notch cut to do, to allow vent through), need two pieces of 40mm square cleating (B&Q) to hold top. Drill here and screws. No saws except jig saw.
The only saw I have is a big chunky one for sawing up logs which I fear would be too savage for this job. How tooled up are you, s55?
If you need some shelves put up, treeve, I do have a drill and spirit level so I could tackle that? And of course, my offer of any donkey work is still there too.
Thankyou for the kind offer of shelf assembly, tabtab13 .... those units are essential to be able to clear the floor, the declaration is that you should not need special tools.
Point of reference : just had a call from Southern Electric, stating that the road was too risky for them, and would not be able to keep appointment to alter meter. Taxi yesterday refused as access was too risky. Guess who came and assisted .. HH and Sparky. If it were not for them, Antarctica! With ice on the steep steps to the balcony, how do I charge the key and card? .....
