Commemorative Dive

After some considerable thought and going through the contemporary reports, as well as looking at the site, although it makes no mention of a specific placing of this stone, I am left with the possibility of something constructed here at the time of Queen Victoria's Jubilee 1897. September 1846, she only made footprint on St Michael's Mount, and after Prince Albert had made his tour of the incomplete new Pier, the Geological Museum and the Chyandour Smelting Works, they went on to Kynance Cove and then to Falmouth.
The steps at the end of Battery Rocks are of a later date. I am left with the consideration (since there was no pool at that time) that a diving board had been erected at that point and time, and the stone commemorated that occasion. Other such work included the Bandstand in Morrab Gardens and the Bolitho Gardens.
So ... now looking for any pictures of the diving board, and any ideas of dates, to tie this in?

Remember the diving board but haven t seen any photos, would be very interested to see some.

Right, found a picture in the box, date around 1925, just a bare mark of a long spring board, in just that position. May be others out there ...

I also remember the diving board and somehow I am sure I have seen a photo of it somewhere. Ask Reg Watkiss perhaps?
