Carnyorth people

According to my mum the unnamed seated is Beryl Cargeeg.

Oh, I remember there being a Susan Cargeeg at Carnyorth school, different family from Dennis and Joyce Cargeeg s children from Botallack Manor. I suspect this would be her mother. I wonder what they were up to? The pile of papers and sheets in hand appear significant.

Great photos, I spent a lot of time in Pendeen and area, when I collected the grocery orders for the Coop. I called on Betty Hill and Hilda Waters. I started at Bojewyan and walked back via Calartha tce, the tce opposite, carn? St Johns tce, the Leat, Boscaswell, Moorland Close, Church Road, Jubilee place, Trewellard, Carnyorth, Famouth Place, Creswells tce, Botallack, Truthwell and home. I didn t do it all in one day, usually got as far as Geevor on Mondays then bus there next morning, getting back to the shop about lunch time. I loved doing it, meeting so many different families. I was the last to do the collection, all deliveries etc finished in the late 60s. I ve put all of this in my bio, which I really MUST get into print, hopefully before my next vist home.

Whilst rummaging in the loft( as I do around Christmas time) I came across some of Mother s notebooks including notes for some talks she gave. Childhood in Tregeseal in the 1930s is quite interesting.

My Mothers childhood was Newbridge, going to Newbridge School and Newbridge Chapel

I m hoping my mum...will be able to give some names to the faces...I ll have to get her to look at this photo.....she is a member by the way...only from Jan....brought her a pc for Christmas.....she s getting there!...
