What looks very much like a churn stand, although I'm by no means 100% certain on this one, by the drive to this interestingly named farm off Gear Lane near Newmill.
Well spotted BOP, you almost needed to excavate that one. Any plat near the end of a farm lane/drive in these parts is a probable churn-stand I'd say although it would be good to have confirmation from someone who could recollect it being used.
And what a great name, on a par with Labour-in-vain I suppose, enough to make you give up before you start.
