WWI Destroyer - 7

A striking motif welded to the hull - seems to be a radiating sun, the central steel plate is 33ins high. I am already drawing up a list of torpedo boat destroyers of WWI, from then on it will be a process of elimination, and so get a short list.

@ treeve, this radiating sun pattern has stirred up some comment. I see benjidog on SN thinks it has artistic merit. ::15:
 
Brian is quite a character, good man. I so often find myself that natural art is fascinating and meritorious beyond the action painting genre. But under this rust lies a history of battle, hardship, men s lives, and a great deal of Admiralty paperwork. No painting created by gravity or bicycle wheels holds any of that for me. This rust and rivet used to be fuelled, had a powerful turbine and moved at 25 knots. This is alive to me. I know the policy of T W Ward was to re-use everything, long before recycle became the new buzzword.
Parts of these vessels are still afloat today, somewhere. ::15: ::6:
