Treryn Dinas - ancient headland fort

Note the ridge in the middle which is a rampart of the headland fortress that once was well-situated for defending itself against enemies. The name 'Treryn Dinas' comes from the Cornish for 'Fortress' (Dinas) [of a] 'Settlement' (Tre) [on] a point of land (rynn). 'Treen' is a shortened form of this also used for the nearby village.
super pic Trepolpen! This is the innermost rampart of the cliff castle at Treryn - there are three other ramparts about 500 feet inland. There are also the remains of a couple of ancient hut circles behind the rampart on the picture.

Fascinating stuff! I d like to see a picture reconstruction of how it might have been. Thanks by the way.
