The Abbey

Built at a time when Chapel Street was little more than a tiny track, with a handful of cottages.
One of the few houses that hasn t been hit by the colour police (aka P.D.C. Magnolia or grey coloured buildings in our town because we are sad old councillors that have nothing better to spend tax payers money on)

Having made a special study of colours when restoring Georgian Houses (not that this is one, I have to say!) I discovered that the Georgians like bright bold colours; this was long before the studies made in the latest swathe of restorationalists. This is accepted as a Georgian Town. Also, paint is not permanent. Our buildings need protection and care and attention. I have had it over the years with colour blind morons who seem to prefer the Bland Blend of Vapid Paint. Well done that man - Looking Smart.
