Brings back memories of Saturday's on Porthminster Beach in the 50's with my Great Aunt Miriam! We would take the train from Penzance, change at St. Erth for St. Ives. We would then make our way to Porthminster beach. Blanket on the sand, sandwiches and hard boiled eggs in a tin and Kunzle cakes for dessert. Then Aunt Miriam would get a tray of tea from the cafe and we would enjoy our lunch, I would swim and make sandcastles and Aunt Miriam would keep a watchful eye. Sigh. Happy, carefree days!
