Came to grief under Clodgy.
Launched by Chickasaw SB of Alabama, for US Steel Production Co. 3,450 nrt, steam turbines, engines by Federal SBCo Kearney, New Jersey. Her owners Isthmian SSCo New York. Captain Joseph Hermann; Bessemer City left Liverpool 31st October for London, her general cargo had been loaded in the US. Evening of 1st November in a haze, at midnight she passed by unseen Godrevey and grounded at Pen Enys Point. Over the next few weeks, she split into sections, and her fore drifted in to Trevalgan, her cargo opened by the seas, it was carried on to shores as far as Newquay, finding its way into kitchen pantries - tinned fuits and raisins were much of a delicacy then. A Penzance Salvors managed to retrieve a great deal from the wreck.
