Queen Victoria stepped here in 1846 - St Michael's Mount

(...and King Edward the VII also has a brass footmark on the far wharf opposite this.) There is a beautiful picture of her grand departure in her royal barque with attendant vessels with the Mount as a backdrop (on the stairs at Penlee Museum/Gallery).
The boatmen used to tell the visitors that Queen Victoria landed there, because she tripped over the top step. ::15:
