Penzance Railway Station - 01

View from the bottom of Market Jew Street.
The concave curve of the North wall is clearly seen here.
Eye level is along the centre of the granite 'fascia'.
26th August 2009
I will put up some interiors later. The curve is quite marked. I have had so many enquires over recent years for details of the station and the approach, all the way from Marazion bridge, and we have just had another from OldCodger, I thought I may as well put it all together.

My what an excellent photo ....I myself didn t realized it looked like this from this angle...where abouts were you standing when you took this photo may I ask?

By the Painted Bird, bottom of The Terrace. I needed a shot at just eaves level. ;)

I ve stood by a few painted birds in my time, but I no longer frequent that sort of establishment read#

One of my grandfather s little bits of fun was the story in school as to how to spell/differentiate stationary and stationery ;
the point was to remember the porter at the station, Arry as he would never move when needed. He was Station Arry. My grandfather was a carriage cleaner at Ponsandane, a porter on Penzance Station,
and he also worked on Padstow Station during WWII, having served on the front line in WWI surviving the Somme.

Very good.
I never had any problem with those words for some reason whereas discrete/discreet and a few others I need to check every time.
