Stone near the sundial by Penlee House. I don't know the origin of this; perhaps someone out there does.

From the appearance of the letter style and form, I would guess this was 1687. That could be a stylised 'M' rather than an 'H', that appears to be a hyphen after it, what is curious is the folded loop '8'.
