National Registration

Identity Card - issued for demobilisation - 1946
National Identity cards were of different colours under sixteen they were buff....over sixteen they were blue.

I had no idea as to the significance of colour, it came as no surprise to realise that my father was indeed over 16 at the time.

@Treeve...I gave this some thought, we dont know if the combination identity numbers have ever been de-activated therefor perhaps theyshould be covered as they could be of value to a fraudster this would also apply to ration books medical cards etc:. just a thought !!

Both my parents have 'passed over', an event well recorded - the same thought occured to myself as to fraudulent idlers, I am hopeful as to their apprehension, I take your point.

@Treeve...my thoughts were prompted by the many complaints of fraud over here where persons who passed away several years ago are somehow casting a vote at various elections !!!
