A Camera Obscura is effectively a dark room in which images of outside objects are thrown on a screen from a long-focus convex lens.Basically it provides a 360 degree view of your surroundings.Do I sound as if I know what I m talking about ??!! Actually, there was one featured in a recent episode of Midsommer Murders .....!!!!
Thank you for the info...but hey what do i know??...Thank you so much for clarifying this for me as obviously I had no idea!!!LOL!!!! and unfortunately I do not watch Midsommer Murders so I wouldn t of known anyway... but thanks for the info it makes interesting reading and for others hopefully
The first Camera Obscura in Britain were used to make drawings of the London Basin ... camera meaning room, obscura meaning darkened .. so we end up taking pictures on a camera. Aristotle knew of them, Canaletto used them to great effect in his accuracy in paintings. I think ours are a bit more portable nowadays, and it is less trouble than all that drawing and paintwork.
