fit to drive

drive on the grass it will not wear out your tyres only the grass and trees
Absolutely no regard for other people's property (it is not specifically owned by the driver), other people's work (it is maintained by a team of dedicated workers, let alone the damage to kerbs, another team of men, financed through other people's rates, an item in constant derision (here we see a reason for that expense), as well as damage to suspension and tyres, as they surmount the kerbs and fuel in order to be able to do this. Maybe they are used to cross country rally. This is Anti-Social Behaviour. Full Stop.

You want to see some of the verges at Treneere - largely the work of contractors' vehicles.

Too true, not exactly a shing example of decent behaviour, having been raised through contracts where we allocated specific areas for parking, ensured provision was made for double handling, ensured provision was made for access and turning with proper restitution when the job was finished, let alone contract maintenance, where the roads were swept and hosed weekly. I am glad to be out of this rat race now, it is being run by accountants and weaklings, straightjacketed by rules written by people that have never been on site, the end result is that it looks like a badly run piggery. Pigs look after their homes better.
