Mousehole Fishermen late 1940s 50s
My father fished out of Newlyn, he was crew on the 'Guide Me' owned by Ronnie Sampson. Anyone remember Ronnie?

Do you remember his fishing boat the 'Guide Me'? My father fished with Ronnie for several years until ill health forced him to retire . I remember Ronnie's wife was a member of the Salvation Army although I didn't realise they lived in Wood Street.

@ Tropicgal..They lived right opposite the old Knee's arcade in Wood St, the last time I saw his wife she was working
in Radbourne's Tobacconist, like you say she was a Member of the Sally Army I believe Ronnie was involved too...

You managed to kick the old memory bank into action welb1931!!! Of course, Wood Street ran from Bread Street to Market Jew Street between Knees and (can't remember which store was on the other side) and there were a couple of terraced houses on the right hand side as you head down to Market Jew St. For some reason I was placing Wood Street at the other end of the Terrace! You are quite right the Sampsons lived in one of those houses!
