core blimey local Penwith flints

This site produced over 150 Neolithic cores (Approx 5000- 3000 BC) in only one afternoon as well as several arrowheads, all of which needed plotting and recording. The core is the waste product of striking flakes in a downward fashion ,leaving a apple core like byproduct. The flakes would then be used as they were or blunted on one side so that they could be used with pressure as cutting edges.
