Aground Mousehole 27th December 1977. Total loss.
The Conqueror was only doing a couple of knots when she went aground, as she was just pootling around the bay over Xmas in calm conditions and seemed hardly damaged. It always seemed odd to me that she couldn't have just been winched off with an anchor or two.
Somewhere I should have some better quality snaps than these...
