77 Market Jew Street - William Bollom Ludlow

This is Ludlow Ship and Insurance Brokers - Commission Agents and Vice Consul for the Netherlands. William Bollom Ludlow (1835-1904) is on the left - so the picture is pre-1904.
What a collection.... I can t wait to see what else you have. I must say that I ve never seen this image in any other library.... As Penzancemaid quite rightfully said fantastic historical picture!

Utterly amazing to see this. Goose bumps rising on my neck as I look at the poster and photographs, as well as realising Vice Consulate for the Netherlands was here ... Mr Beezach was Consul in 1917 when seven Dutch ships were attacked off Penwith.

Edmund Ludlow is mentioned in Kelly s of 1883 as Vice-Consul of Holland and agent for Atlas Fire and Life, at 77 MJS. I suppose he might be William s father?

Yes you are right it is Edmund Ludlow (1835-1904) not his father in this picture - William Bollom Ludlow (26 Jan 1808-26 Aug 1868). William and I think Edmund are both buried in Penzance cemetery.
