Farmers Arms

Passed by here today, not a sign of life. Not everybodies favourite drinking hole, but a shame all the same.
I've enjoyed a few pints in here over the years; I haven't been in for some time now. I'll be interested to see how this situation pans out.

I can now confirm that the new owners have simply closed up shop. The pub closed on the first week in January and hasn't opened since.

Rumour has reached my shell-like that it will reopen as an Irish-themed pub. Don't take that as gospel!

Irish theme? In the 1830's the Farmers Arms was listed as a potato merchant/ale house. Perhaps a future tarrif may include patchine and coke. ::10:

Had a fine bottle of Jameson's a few years back; I gather poteen is now raised to an honest level.
